Yesterday I spent the day in Providence, RI with a friend who is in medical school at Brown. When I visited her last fall she introduced me to an amazing cafe called Olga's Cup + Saucer. At my request we dined there again. The weather was absolutely perfect and we sat amongst the wildflowers on Olga's outdoor patio.
After brunch we headed to Thayer Street and on the way we made the most amazing discovery! It was just our luck that it was RISD parents weekend and as such, RISD was hosting an alumni craft fair. Hand made items from graduates of the best art school in the country? I'll take it!
The fair was about four blocks long and we had a blast checking out the jewelry, pottery, glass pieces, stationary and clothing. For me, it was love at first sight when I saw the pieces at artist Mollie Conlee's table. Mollie is actually a current RISD student and started her own jewelry line called Public Frenemy (obsessed with the name).
I was drawn to the bright colors of her pieces.
Mollie packaged the necklace up for me in a wax paper bag. When I unwrapped it later in the day I discovered the necklace wrapped in hot pink tulle and accompanied by a candy necklace. Adorable! In fact, the necklace kind of looks like candy.
You can shop Mollie's pieces on her Etsy page. Go ahead, make a frenemy.
