Giveaway: American Blanket Company Throw

So, it's snowing again. I think we can all agree we're ready for spring, yes?

A storm that was supposed to bring nothing but rain here in Boston, turned into a good foot of snow in some places in and around the city.

What do you do when it's snowing outside? Curl up inside! I don't know about you, but my favorite thing to do during snow storms is make hot cocoa and watch movies.

No snow day movie marathon is complete without the perfect blanket to snuggle into. Thanks to my friends at the American Blanket Company, I have a brand new blanket, in my favorite color (purple) to keep me cozy tonight.

The American Blanket Company is based right here in Massachusetts, Fall River to be exact, and each and every one of their blankets is made here in the U.S. They make everything from bedding blankets to throw blankets to baby blankets. Each blanket's quality is guaranteed for life and you can customize any size blanket with initials, a full name or a special date. Additionally, every blanket comes gift wrapped, saving you the hassle of having to purchase enough wrapping paper to cover an entire fleece blanket!

My American Blanket Company blanket is the throw size. That size comes in three fabric choices: Peaceful Touch, Supple Touch or Luster Loft. I selected the Supple Touch because it comes in my favorite hue, plum!

My blanket arrived and as promised, it was beautifully packaged.

The American Blanket Company logo feels so Americana. It reminds me of the Ralph Lauren or Tommy Hilfiger logos.

Each blanket has a sticker marked "Made in U.S.A."

How beautiful is this color? Can you tell how soft the blanket is just from looking at this picture?

I couldn't decide where to keep the blanket, so I had to try every room.

On its first night in my house I had it over one of my dining room chairs.

A few days later I moved it to my bedroom. It matches my Madura bedding perfectly!

Eventually I moved it to my great grandmother's chair in my living room. I have been watching TV in this chair my whole life. It is completely molded to my body.

The blanket eventually found its permanent home on my couch. In fact, as I write this I am on the couch, under the blanket, with my Macbook on my lap. I am snug as a bug in a rug!

This blanket is so soft and feels so luxurious. It is pure heaven.

I am so obsessed with this blanket that I have to share the love. The folks at American Blanket Company have generously given me a second plum colored, Supple Touch throw blanket to giveaway to one of my lucky readers!

  1. During the last snow storm, all three of my roommates and I stayed in, cooked up a spaghetti dinner with a beautiful salad on the side, watched movies, and ordered fresh baked cookies from Insomnia Cookies across the street. It was heaven! However, I was thinking about my Boston besties the whole time (they were getting hit much harder with a blizzard) and wishing I could be cozying up with them too!
Great photos of your gorgeous new home Molly! Miss you! Love, Marisa

  2. When I was a kid: I loved curling up on a bean bag and watching movies - anything involving The Muppets or The Mighty Ducks. Now: I love to catch up on tv shows on my DVR or reading whatever I have on my kindle. Even though I should probably be grading or getting ready to teach sixth graders! :)

  3. Snow days in NYC are so different than anywhere else! You are hardly ever stuck inside so I like to go out and explore the neighborhood covered in a beautiful winter white backdrop. I also love catching up on my blogs!!! Love your bedding and that chair from your great grandmother is so beautiful. Antique's with a story are the best!

  4. The perfect snow day starts with a nice cup of peppermint tea while watching the snow fall. I also like to light my apartment with candles, just to set the right mood! Then I spend the late morning and early afternoon baking, the smell of cookies and candles is just divine. As darkness gathers and the snow drifts build, it's time to make some hot chocolate and enjoy fresh cookies with a good book. Snowy evenings are, for me, best spent with some good friends watching old movies (especially Bette Davis!) and enjoying some hot mulled wine. Argh, now I wish there were more snow days on the horizon! Love the blog!

  6. I love to do NOTHING on snow days. Catch up on my DVR while staring out the window at the snow coming down. It's truly a day off where we can't do anything and it's a-ok!

  7. As a Texan, snow days have taken some getting used to, but I think I have it down to an art form now. I typically watch the news in between downing cups a liquid warmth (coffee, hot chocolate and wine) and napping nestled between 2 cute kitties. The kitties love blankets, so this would be a nice, warm and fuzzy addition to their nap schedules. :)

  8. Hi Molly!! I know that you are definitely not a snow person, but as you know, I totally am! So, my perfect snow day is hitting the slopes early for the fresh powder and then relaxing by the fire with a glass of wine for a little apres skiing. Can I convince you to try it?!?
